To provide the 2nd generation of Chinese members in our church and English speaking college/young adults a spiritual family where they can mature spiritually in Christ by worshiping God, having fellowship with others, evangelize God's good news, study the word of God, and practice Christian faith with the ultimate aim in glorifying God.
About GCCC English Ministry GCCC was first foundedby members of the first generation Chinese immigrants from Taiwan, China, and other South and East Asia countries. As the families grow together during the last twenty years, many children were born and raised in the church families. Despite being bilingual, most young people see the need of holding their own worship in ways they feel most inspired to and with the use of the English language. Thus in January 2001, GCCC English Ministry was started amongst the support and blessing of the Chinese congregation. Pastor Jack Chen served as the Pastor in Charge until Pastor Levi Huang joined the staff in 2004. Elder Jonathan Sun supports the ministry as the ministry administrator. Many brothers and sisters joined to start the ministry initially from the Chinese congregation, leading in areas such as Sunday School, College and High School Fellowships and giving sermons. Today the English congregation consists of members starting from primary school students to adults. Regular Sunday worship attendance ranges about fifty people. Our English Ministry is a place where we study the word of God earnestly, worship God with all of our passion, serve the Lord with humility and obedience, and witness God to others by loving each other. Other than Sunday worship and Sunday school, we also hold young adult and high school fellowships on Friday evenings. Throughout the years we see God’s grace abundantly abide in us. We have a lively worship team during the service. We have had two Thanksgiving soup kitchen projects to serve elder people with love. We organized three mission trips to Northern Thailand to serve the children in poverty. It's very touching to witness how the mission fund was raised through the banquet and auction events planned by young people. We also had the first vocational bible school in 2005, with more than fifty children and thirty teachers and helpers. In the year 2006, our theme is “Share Jesus with Others”. We will continue to focus on reading the Bible and learning to share our faith with others. Through the reading of God’s word and serving others in the fellowship, we want to build the foundation in everyone’s character. We are so blessed to be part of this ministry. There is nothing more meaningful than leading the young people to know God in the days of their youth.
